HEALTHCARE FOUNDER-OPERATOR · UK & AUSTRALIA

A thoughtful next chapter for your practice.

I’m Kayur Kotecha, a clinically trained healthcare founder. I’m currently seeking an established rehabilitation or allied-health practice in Greater South East Queensland. My founder-operator work spans the UK and Australia, with care for the people, clinical standards and relationships that make a service work.

WHAT I LOOK FOR

A good business has people and purpose at its centre.

I’m looking to work with owners of established healthcare services who want to think carefully about what comes next for the business they have built.

Services

Physiotherapy and rehabilitation, occupational health and injury management, multidisciplinary allied health, psychology, exercise physiology and occupational therapy.

Business size

I’m generally looking for an established, profitable service with 6-30 staff, capable management and senior clinicians in place, and steady year-round revenue. A diversified referrer and funder base, current registrations and low near-term capital needs also matter.

Places

My current search is focused on Greater South East Queensland. I may consider other Australian locations where day-to-day leadership is already in place.

Transition options

A full acquisition is my main focus. I’m also open to a staged buy-in where it supports a planned succession. Any structure would reflect verified earnings and the needs of both parties.

If you advise owners who may be considering succession, I’d welcome an introduction.

TRACK RECORD

Businesses I’ve founded and helped build.

I have built and continue to operate two healthcare and rehabilitation businesses. My work has included clinical governance, multidisciplinary team leadership and referral-led growth.

United Kingdom · Founded 2019

Transcend Rehabilitation

Founder & CEO

I founded Transcend to provide person-focused, clinically accountable rehabilitation after serious injury. The business continues to deliver immediate needs assessments and rehabilitation case management.

United Kingdom · Co-founded 2026

Nutrition Rehab Collective

Co-founder & CEO

I co-founded NRC to bring structured clinical nutrition and dietetic support into serious-injury rehabilitation through its Fuel–Feel–Function framework.

How I assess a fit: I look for verified, maintainable earnings, a resilient referral and funding base, capable day-to-day leadership, and a clear view of clinical, regulatory and capital requirements. Any acquisition would be subject to due diligence and confirmed funding.

A THOUGHTFUL HANDOVER

Your team, patients and the work you’ve built deserve careful thought.

Every business is different. I’d want to understand what matters to you before exploring what a transition could look like.

Your team

My aim would be to retain capable staff and existing arrangements where appropriate, preserve clinical leadership and culture, and understand what the team needs through a change in ownership.

Your patients

Continuity and quality of care should be considered from the first conversations through any transition plan.

Your business name

A business name can carry years of trust. I’d understand what it means to your team and community before considering any change.

Pace and discretion

You can start talking before deciding whether to sell. If we agree to explore further, we would put a confidentiality agreement in place before sensitive information is shared. I would not approach staff, patients or referrers without your consent.

Your role

I’m open to a seller-supported handover. Its scope and duration would reflect how the practice operates, its reliance on you and your plans for stepping back.

HOW A CONVERSATION WORKS

A few clear steps, at a pace that suits you.

You don’t need to have decided to sell before we speak.

01

First conversation

Tell me about the practice, what you are considering and the timing that may suit you.

02

Agree confidentiality

If we both want to explore further, we agree confidentiality before reviewing sensitive information.

03

Assess the fit

We consider the service, team, earnings, referrer and funder mix, lease and investment needs, then discuss whether a structure could work.

04

Progress with care

If there is alignment, the next stage may include professional due diligence, confirmed funding and a documented handover plan.

WHAT I BELIEVE ABOUT HEALTHCARE BUSINESSES

Good care and good ownership need to support each other.

These beliefs come from my clinical training and from building services myself.

Clinical freedom

My physiotherapy background keeps professional judgement close to decisions about care. At Transcend, I remain close to the clinical work.

Capable teams

I have led multidisciplinary clinical and operations teams of up to ten people, developed clinicians, and worked across rosters and service mix. In a new practice, I’d work with the practice manager and senior clinicians to support continuity and sustainable growth.

Clinical accountability

Transcend was founded to deliver person-focused, clinically accountable rehabilitation after serious injury.

Lasting ownership

I founded Transcend in 2019 and continue to lead it. That experience has shaped my respect for the responsibility involved in carrying a service forward.

ABOUT KAYUR

Clinically trained. Still close to the human work.

I studied human biology and physiotherapy, then worked across rehabilitation practice and case management before building healthcare businesses. Over 16 years in rehabilitation and allied health across the UK and Australia have shaped how I think about clinical quality, operations and ownership. I remain close to clinical work because commercial decisions in healthcare carry human consequences.

My work spans the UK and Australia, including serious-injury rehabilitation, occupational rehabilitation, return to work, persistent pain and service development.

Alongside my operating roles, I’m a founding investor partner at Balmoral Partners, a wider investment group.

Away from work, I’m a husband and father, yoga teacher, photographer, traveller and lifelong student of human nature. I also help bring people together through community movement and wellbeing events.
